In Tay language, Pac Ta mountain means "breast of heaven", or another name is Xa Ta mountain, Nui Voi. This is the highest mountain in Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province, with an elephant standing beside the wine. Horned, majestic, hidden, and appeared in the clouds in Tuyen Quang hydroelectric lake.

Legend has it that in the past, this place was a dense forest with many rare and precious animals, including hundreds of elephants living in swarms. Elephants are big and strong, so people in the region tame them to pull and pull goods and transport them. In that year, the Na Hang area had invaders, the people in the area gathered all the forces for the war, including the elephants. However, in the herd there is a very fierce male elephant, no one can tame, many good generals must shake their heads. A remote manager will take over this job.

On the first day, he let the villagers block all streams around the elephant area, a few days after the thirsty elephant did not have water to drink, he poured wine into the rock holes, and the elephants went there to drink water to change. Five days, ten days and a long time, the elephant became familiar with wine and the steward. He could put on the elephant's back and control the order - from which the villagers named it "elephant wine". On the day of the battle, "elephant wine" bravely went to the battlefield to fight with the army of dead soldiers. Winning the battle, the king proclaimed "elephant wine" as a public district elephant and opened a banquet to entertain the generals. "Elephant wine" is satisfied, drink all the alcohol to another wine, until it is too drunk and die. Strangely, the elephant died and still stood stunned like a battle. That night, it was pouring heavy rain, thunder and lightning, and the wind whistled like the pity of the villagers for "elephant wine".
